At least 5 people suffered life threatening injuries yesterday when a Catholic church under construction collapsed.
The project of the Immaculate Catholic Cathedral Church in Lokoja, Kogi with sitting capacity of 10,000 came down a week to completion.
The church administrator Rev Father Anthony Akande said the building collapsed when workers were on break.
He thank God that no life was lost. Rev Akande explained that 8 engineers were supervising the project, adding that a team of visiting engineers of the church from Abuja last week gave a pass mark to the work already done.
He said the collapse of the building was unfortunate and surprising.
