A United Kingdom (UK) court has jailed a 58-year-old Nigerian Catholic priest, Rev. Fr Hillary Nwadei.
The cleric, who is serving at St Mary’s Priory in Leyland, was jailed eight months for sexually assaulting a female worker at the parish.

Sunday Independent reported that Judge Michael Byrne of the Lancashire Court said the incident occurred on December 12, 2013.
Nwadei an indigene of Isele-Uku in Delta State was also fined 100 pounds by the court after he entered a guilty plea.
It was further gathered that the Catholic priest also risk being deported from the UK to Nigeria after serving his jail term, and that his name will be placed on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years.
The Nigerian cleric was arrested on a warrant at the London Heathrow in December 2014 while on a transit flight to the United States, almost a year after he fled the United Kingdom after he allegedly became aware that he was being investigated for the crime.
