Dead Man Skin Can Cure Chronic Wounds

Dead men skin can cure acute wounds, such as burns, as well as painful ulcers in the living –researchers from the University of Manchester, England, UK, claim.
A team of British researchers have found that skin taken from corpses can treat wounds that do not easily heal by themselves. The new technology is using human skin from cadavers that are decontaminated with antibiotics.

Then a combination of detergents, enzymes and other chemicals used to remove cells from the skin, so that the recipient’s immune system is less likely to react and cause a person’s body to reject the organ.

The experts stripped out the skin’s inner layer – the dermis – which contains blood vessels, nerve endings, hair follicles and sweat glands, to leave behind its matrix of proteins. The advantage of using real skin is that the body is familiar with its structure.

Experimentally it was discovered that such kind of skin can be used to treat burns, rebuild scar tissue and treat chronic wounds that have not healed in months or even years. The technology is still developing as scientists hope to test it on more patients to in order accelerate the healing process.
