Pupils and their teachers fled Iguodala Primary school located in Uhunduhun Oredo LGA of Edo State on Monday after they suddenly discovered a freshly dug grave in one of their classrooms.
The incident which happened after the morning assembly session caused pandemonium in the entire community as fresh blood was sprinkled on the grave.
Police officials and cemetery workers were called in but after digging up the grave, they discovered it is an empty grave.
This forced the police DPO Akeke Eni to allay the fear of the community that the remains of victims of ritual killers could have been buried inside the classroom.
Parents of the pupils and residents of Oredo community however urged Edo State government to help in reconstructing the school which had become a hideout for criminals for years.
